Covenant Day breezed by Charlotte Country Day School at home to the tune of 61-32. Given Covenant Day's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Charlotte Country Day School is ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Michael Marcus Jr., who scored 16 points along with two steals. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyree White, who scored nine points along with six assists and three steals.
Covenant Day's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-10.
Covenant Day will head out on the road to take on Charlotte Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Covenant Day is facing Charlotte Christian at the right time seeing as Charlotte Christian is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Providence Day at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
