The Washington International Red Devils took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday (and then some). They put the hurt on Burke with a sharp 52-26 win.
Washington International's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derin Kirtman, who scored 15 points. Marco Operti was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Washington International's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Burke, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington International will take on Washington Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Burke, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spencerville Adventist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
