Baseball Recap: Boston College High Sets Scoring Season-High Against Central Catholic

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boston College High). They were the clear victors by a 23-3 margin over the Central Catholic Raiders on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Anthony DuFour looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gustavo Bosques was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Brody Beale also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Boston College High always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .732. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Boston College High pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Central Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Boston College High will be playing at home against St. John's Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. St. John's Prep's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Boston College High's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Central Catholic, they will venture away from home to square off against La Salle Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
