On Wednesday, West Haven came up short against Staples and fell 62-51. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Haven has scored all season.
Sam Clachko had a dynamite game for Staples, scoring 31 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Mason Tobias was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for West Haven and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Staples, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Haven is on the road again on Friday and play against Pomperaug at 3:00 p.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Pomperaug is ranked 67th, while West Haven is ranked 72nd). Staples will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Immaculate at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
