Napavine has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 23 points or more this season. They blew past La Center 69-45. Given Napavine's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while La Center is ranked 246th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
James Grose continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karsen Denault, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Morton/White Pass pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Eatonville on the road by a decisive 72-57 margin. Morton/White Pass has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Napavine's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.6 points per game. As for Morton/White Pass, they have fallen quite a ways from their 23-4 record last season and are now at 2-4.
Napavine couldn't quite finish off Morton/White Pass in their previous matchup back in March and fell 54-51. Can Napavine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
