San Jacinto Valley Academy has not had much luck with Santa Rosa Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why San Jacinto Valley Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Reon Terakubo. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of James Henderson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santa Rosa Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than James Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 steals. Those 13 steals set a new season-high mark for him. Chris Jones was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with nine steals and seven assists.
San Jacinto Valley Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Santa Rosa Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-12.
San Jacinto Valley Academy will head out on the road to face off against Nuview Bridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Rosa Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School at 6:30 p.m.
