Antietam has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Hamburg Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Antietam has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
Last Monday, Antietam was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 51-47 to Schuylkill Valley.
Despite the loss, Antietam saw an underclassman step up: AJ Schiefly scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Coste, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Hamburg can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 win over Tulpehocken. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Hamburg has posted yet this season.
Antietam's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Hamburg, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11.
Antietam skirted past Hamburg 50-47 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Antietam since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
