The Holland Patent Golden Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Adirondack Wildcats at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Holland Patent has three straight victories, Adirondack has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Holland Patent didn't have too much trouble with Mt. Markham on the road as they won 62-43.
Holland Patent's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Terralyn McLaughlin, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which McLaughlin has scored at least a third of Holland Patent's points. Michaela Cushman was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Adirondack came up short against Canastota on Monday and fell 54-42.
The win got Holland Patent back to even at 9-9. As for Adirondack, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-9.
Everything came up roses for Holland Patent against Adirondack in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 57-29 victory. With Holland Patent ahead 32-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
