The Brownsburg Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Noblesville Millers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Brownsburg will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Lawrence North on Monday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Wildcats.
Avery Toole looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Bailey Paddock was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Ashley Slyvia also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Brownsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrence North only posted an OBP of .345.
Meanwhile, Noblesville faced Yorktown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Millers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 9-1 win.
Addison Retzinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Noblesville let Addi Emmerson and Haley Schatko run wild. Emmerson went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Schatko went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Kern, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.
Noblesville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Brownsburg, their record now sits at 13-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brownsburg has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Noblesville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Brownsburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Noblesville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
