The team relied heavily on Nicolas Page, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3. Parker is undefeated when Page posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Terrion Nevels, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Page wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Parker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Pinson Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against Brookwood, falling 10-4.
Pinson Valley also got a good showing from Kirby Reddick, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Furthermore, Reddick didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.
At the plate, Jaylon Sharpe and Nathan Lewis did some serious damage despite the final result: Sharpe scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Lewis got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases. Sharpe has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Justice Lockwood, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Parker's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Pinson Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
Saturday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Parker has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like Pinson Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .490. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
