Woodsboro has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Kenedy Lions at 7:45 p.m. Woodsboro has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
On Saturday, Woodsboro was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Taft.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jordan Garcia, who scored 13 points. Jordan Zena was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Kenedy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against La Vernia, falling 95-56. While losing is never fun, Kenedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1374th, while La Vernia is ranked 222nd).
Woodsboro's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-11. As for Kenedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Woodsboro came out on top in a nail-biter against Kenedy in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 45-42. Does Woodsboro have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kenedy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
