Glenns Ferry is a perfect 10-0 against Wilder since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pilots will square off against the Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. Glenns Ferry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Glenns Ferry made easy work of Horseshoe Bend and carried off a 23-10 victory. The Pilots haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Glenns Ferry got a massive performance out of Lucy Thomas, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Thomas has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Peyton Stewart, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Glenns Ferry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Wilder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Greenleaf Friends Academy, falling 19-4.
Wilder saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Escutia, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Melissa Lopez was another, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Wilder's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Glenns Ferry, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Glenns Ferry has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wilder struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Glenns Ferry's way against Wilder when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Glenns Ferry made off with a 16-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pilots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
