If the Bear Grass Charter Bears were riding high off their 57-25 takedown of the Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech Griffins on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bear Grass Charter took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northside - Pinetown. While losing is never fun, Bear Grass Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Northside - Pinetown is ranked 68th).
Northside - Pinetown's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Griffin Johnson, who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds. The game was Johnson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Moore, who scored 14 points.
Bear Grass Charter's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Northside - Pinetown, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing North East Carolina Prep the next time they take the court. Bear Grass Charter will host North East Carolina Prep at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, while Northside - Pinetown will head out to face them at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
