Basketball Recap: Horeb Christian Drops Highest Score of Season Against Pinecrest Glades Academy

There's no place like home for Horeb Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 70-61 win over the Pinecrest Glades Academy Dragons on Monday. The Mustangs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Horeb Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jonathan Gonzalez led the charge by going 7 for 14 on his way to 19 points and five steals. That's the most steals Gonzalez has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Ravelo, who posted seven points and 20 rebounds.

Pinecrest Glades Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ronnie Rivero, who earned 20 points, and Kevin Hernandez, who had 21 points. Rivero's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kristopher Arauz, who put up six points.

Horeb Christian now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Pinecrest Glades Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Horeb Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-49 victory against Cristo Rey on the 11th. As for Pinecrest Glades Academy, they will take on Sunset at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pinecrest Glades Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
