It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Norwalk Bears ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 78-71 victory over Staples. The win was nothing new for Norwalk as they're now sitting on five straight.
Despite the loss, Staples still got an impressive performance from Sam Clachko, who scored 28 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Clachko is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Udell, who scored 16 points along with six assists.
Norwalk's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Staples, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norwalk will challenge Ridgefield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgefield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Norwalk in Connecticut (Ridgefield is ranked sixth, while Norwalk is ranked 57th). As for Staples, they will head out on the road to face off against Stamford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stamford has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 378 points over their last six matchups.
