The Mooreville Troopers will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the East Webster Wolverines at 5:00 p.m.
Mooreville lost a close one when they played back in February but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on March 2nd was a bit more commanding. They suffered a rough 12-3 loss at the hands of Itawamba Agricultural.
Mckenna Hutcherson and Saylem Scruggs stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hutcherson went 1-for-3 with a home run, while Scruggs scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, East Webster waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Bulldogs 28-2. That 26 run margin sets a new team best for East Webster this season.
Waydlee Belle Jones made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up two earned runs off three hits. Jones was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and a triple.
In other batting news, East Webster got a massive performance out of Paytan Sanders, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jasie Rae Flora, who went 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI.
Mooreville dropped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for East Webster, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
