Basketball Recap: Kaleik Cook's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mid Valley over Holy Cross

Mid Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 78-62 fall against the Holy Cross Crusaders. Even though they lost, the Spartans' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Mid Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleik Cook, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds. Jakob Lesher was another key player, going 8 of 9 on his way to 17 points and four steals.

Mid Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Holy Cross, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mid Valley will square off against Dunmore at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Mid Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season. As for Holy Cross, they will take on Lakeland at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
