Lampeter-Strasburg is 2-0 against Conrad Weiser since November of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers will head out on the road to face off against the Conrad Weiser Scouts at 7:00 p.m. Lampeter-Strasburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Conrad Weiser likes a good challenge.
Last Thursday, Lampeter-Strasburg got themselves on the board against Eastern Lebanon County, but Eastern Lebanon County never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 49-0 win over the Raiders at home. The result was nothing new for Lampeter-Strasburg, who have now won seven matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
Lampeter-Strasburg's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trenton Wagner, who threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes. John Mellinger was in the mix too, providing Lampeter-Strasburg with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Conrad Weiser suffered a tough 35-14 loss at the hands of Wyomissing on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Conrad Weiser can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Wyomissing is ranked 79th).
The losing side was boosted by Sevon Parham, who rushed for 140 yards.
Lampeter-Strasburg's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-6 Octorara Area and 2-6 Donegal (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 41.9% over those games). Conrad Weiser has not been sharp this season, as they've lost six of their first eight contests, which leaves them at a 2-6 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday' contest: Lampeter-Strasburg has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 364.2 total yards per game. It's a different story for Conrad Weiser, though, as they've been averaging only 239.4 per game. Will Lampeter-Strasburg be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will Conrad Weiser flip the ?
Everything came up roses for Lampeter-Strasburg against Conrad Weiser in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 51-17 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lampeter-Strasburg since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
