The Carlinville Cavaliers won the last time they faced the Lutheran Crusaders, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Carlinville snuck past Lutheran with a 55-51 win.
Carlinville found their leader in underclassman Sawyer Smith, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Naugle, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Carlinville's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Lutheran, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlinville on the road again on Thursday and play against Litchfield at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. As for Lutheran, they will challenge Calvary at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Calvary will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
