Basketball Recap: Horizon Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Horizon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Centaurus Warriors by a score of 47-36.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Horizon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaitlin Schumann, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 boards. Schumann has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Genia Harris, who posted 14 points.

Horizon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centaurus only pulled down six offensive rebounds.

Centaurus lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ingrid Lorton, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 18 points and eight boards. Rose Pacheco was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals.

Horizon's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Centaurus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.

Horizon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-50 defeat against Frederick on the 11th. As for Centaurus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-28 loss against Mead on the 11th.
