Norman Thomas lost to Seward Park on the road by a decisive 70-54 margin. While losing is never fun, Norman Thomas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while Seward Park is ranked 124th).
Despite the loss, Norman Thomas still got an impressive performance from Jaden Chazulle, who scored 20 points. Jason Guzman was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Norman Thomas has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Seward Park, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norman Thomas will challenge New Dorp at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. New Dorp will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Seward Park, they will head out on the road to take on Pace at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
