The Mendon Unity Mustangs will square off against the Augusta Southeastern Suns at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Mendon Unity is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.2 runs per game this season.
Mendon Unity lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Seymour, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. Mendon Unity was the clear victor by a 28-9 margin over Seymour on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won three matchups in a row.
Sawyer Allen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Allen was even better at the plate, going 4-for-6 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Simon Rabe, who got on base in all seven of his plate appearances with seven RBI, four runs, and one triple. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylor Goudschaal, who scored four runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Mendon Unity always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seymour only posted an OBP of .432.
Meanwhile, Augusta Southeastern sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Astoria/VIT on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Suns in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won four in a row.
Augusta Southeastern's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Case Marlow, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Mendon Unity's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.5 runs this season. As for Augusta Southeastern, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
