Rich's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Haydee Pugmire, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Violett Taylor, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Despite the defeat, Wendover saw an underclassman step up: Millie Hicks scored ten points along with six steals and five rebounds. Hicks has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Paulina Gomez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Rich pushed their record up to 9-4 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Wendover, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Rich will be playing at home against Big Piney at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wendover, Wendover and Wells will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Wells is ranked 67th in Nevada, while Wendover is ranked 54th in Utah).
