Hawthorne had a rough outing against New Milford three weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Hawthorne put the hurt on Pompton Lakes with a sharp 30-6 win.
The match started off well for Hawthorne, whose offense put up 21 first-half points. Meanwhile, Pompton Lakes couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 21-0 heading into the break. The Hawthorne defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 6 and all but finishing the matchup. The game brought Hawthorne to 4-2 and dropped Pompton Lakes to a mirror-image 2-4.
