After a string of three wins, the Lake Highlands Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 70-46 walloping at the hands of Lake Travis. While losing is never fun, Lake Highlands can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Lake Travis is ranked seventh).
Lake Travis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hudson Greer out in front who scored 21 points. The matchup was Greer's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Thomas, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals.
Lake Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Lake Travis, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Lake Highlands will be playing in front of their home fans against MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. MacArthur is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Lake Travis, they will take on Stony Point at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Stony Point is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
