The Holbrook Roadrunners came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Tuba City as Holbrook made off with a 63-42 win. Given Holbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Tuba City is ranked 283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tyler Tapaha was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Tapaha has scored at least 25% of Holbrook's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Salabye, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Holbrook is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Tuba City, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Page the next time they take the court. Tuba City will head out to face Page at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Holbrook will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
