The DSST: Montview Knights came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 80-27 victory over Jefferson. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win DSST: Montview has managed all season.
DSST: Montview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tara Majok out in front who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Majok has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Bowen, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Despite the loss, Jefferson still got an impressive performance from Antonio Lynch, who scored 17 points.
DSST: Montview's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Jefferson, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
DSST: Montview will head out on the road to face off against Englewood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Englewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Tuesday. Jefferson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on The Pinnacle at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
