In what's become a running theme this season, the Pikes Peak Christian Eagles gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They claimed a resounding 90-55 victory over South Park at home. Pikes Peak Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Eddie Harmon was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Noah Sachsenmaier was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Several Burros players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blake Basnett, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Jad Fogelsonger, who scored 11 points along with four steals and three blocks.
Even though they lost, South Park were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Pikes Peak Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for South Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pikes Peak Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Bobcats at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. Bethune comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for South Park, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Del Norte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Friday.
