Softball Recap: Amador Wins Going Away Against El Dorado

Amador hadn't beaten El Dorado on the road since April 11, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Buffaloes put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Buffaloes, who have now won six matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Jessica Mittelstadt spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Faith DelReal, who scored four runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reilly Peckinpaugh, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Amador has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for El Dorado, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Amador will host Argonaut at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for El Dorado, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-0 loss against Bradshaw Christian on the 4th.
