The Waynedale Golden Bears stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They put the hurt on Norwayne with a sharp 48-26 victory. Given Waynedale's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Norwayne is ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the defeat, Norwayne had strong showings from Kendra Berger, who scored nine points, and Grace Wolf, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Norwayne struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Waynedale's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Norwayne, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.
Waynedale has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Dalton at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Waynedale is facing Dalton at the right time seeing as Dalton is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Norwayne, they will head out on the road to face off against Buchtel at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Norwayne is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season.
