Friends Select proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Westtown 8-7. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 win Westtown walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2018.
Conor Humowiecki was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season.
