They enjoyed a cozy 64-50 win over North Springs. Given Greater Atlanta Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while North Springs is ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Greater Atlanta Christian to victory were Mikey Carpenter and Rich Rojas. Carpenter scored 17 points, while Rojas dropped a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds. The matchup was Rojas' eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Teague, who scored 7 points.
Despite the loss, North Springs still got an impressive performance from Esmer Madesko, who scored 25 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Madesko scored a full 50% of North Springs' points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kendall Heard, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals.
Greater Atlanta Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for North Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greater Atlanta Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Brookwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brookwood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for North Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pope at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pope will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
