Bishop Canevin is 3-0 against Nazareth Prep since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bishop Canevin Crusaders will be staying on the road to face off against the Nazareth Prep Saints at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Bishop Canevin's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests.
Bishop Canevin pushed their score all the way to 70 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Highlands. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Saturday (58), Bishop Canevin still had to take the loss.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jason Cross Jr, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Michael Vaughn, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Nazareth Prep posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They breezed by Perry Traditional Academy at home to the tune of 63-29.
Bishop Canevin's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Nazareth Prep, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11.
Bishop Canevin beat Nazareth Prep 65-55 when the teams last played on January 2nd. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Canevin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
