Elmwood owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Landon Snow made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colton Bradford, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Zackery Gross was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

The win made it two in a row for Elmwood and bumps their season record up to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Lima Central Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Elmwood will face off against Arcadia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals are facing the Redskins at the right time seeing as the Redskins are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Lima Central Catholic, they will venture away from home to take on Spencerville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
