The Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Muncie Central at home to the tune of 59-25. The victory was some much needed relief for Lafayette Jefferson as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Lafayette Jefferson found their leader in underclassman Da'Niyah Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaylee Barrett, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Lafayette Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Muncie Central, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lafayette Jefferson will take on Benton Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Benton Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lafayette Jefferson in Indiana (Benton Central is ranked 31st, while Lafayette Jefferson is ranked 306th). As for Muncie Central, they will be playing at home against Monroe Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
