Basketball Recap: South Dade Falls Despite Big Games from Justice Sheppard and Artravia Crawford

After flying high against Coral Reef last Friday, South Dade came back down to earth. The South Dade Buccaneers received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 54-37 to the Westminster Christian Warriors.

Despite the loss, South Dade had strong showings from Artravia Crawford, who posted nine points and seven steals, and Justice Sheppard, who put up nine points. Crawford is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Jurnee Walters was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

South Dade's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Westminster Christian, they moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

South Dade didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-31 win against Coral Park on the 18th. As for Westminster Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against True North Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. True North Classical Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Westminster Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
