The St. Paul Lutheran Saints will square off against the Wellington-Napoleon Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
While it was all tied up 15-15 at halftime, St. Paul Lutheran was not quite Christ Prep Academy's equal in the second half on Friday. St. Paul Lutheran fell 32-23 to Christ Prep Academy.
Meanwhile, Wellington-Napoleon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 53-47 to Odessa. Wellington-Napoleon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Wellington-Napoleon saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Isabelle Miller, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Kaylin Ellensohn, who scored 9 points.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-2.
St. Paul Lutheran was able to grind out a solid win over Wellington-Napoleon in their previous matchup back in February, winning 35-23. Does St. Paul Lutheran have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wellington-Napoleon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
