Make it seven blowout wins for the Decatur Golden Gators this season. They breezed by Federal Way on the road to the tune of 62-11. Given Decatur's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Federal Way is ranked 278th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Decatur found their leader in underclassman Leilah Mulivai-Tobin, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Mulivai-Tobin has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Anderson, who scored nine points along with five assists and two steals.
Decatur's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Federal Way, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Decatur will head out on the road to challenge Tahoma at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tahoma is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Federal Way, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Kentridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Kentridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
