Apache Trail was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after. The Wolfpack came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 30 last week.
Madison Prep and Summit played the most hotly contested game in Charter 2A (8 Man) this week, with Madison Prep eventually emerging with a 38-36 victory. Elijah Turnbo ran for 140 yards and caught one passes for two yards in the win.
The Patriots' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jesus Vasquez threw for 115 yards and Richie Younger had 113 yards receiving.
Thanks to the talents of Michael Wagner and Zach Yada Glendale Prep Academy has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Wagner leads the league in passing with 666 yards, while Yada has rushed for 748 yards this season. Madison Prep's Younger leads the league in receiving yards with 274 on 14 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Harvest Prep Academy takes on Apache Trail. Harvest Prep Academy is currently in third, while the Wolfpack are in first.
There should be lots of points scored when Gordon Sheaffer's team and Glendale Prep Academy face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Patriots comes in having scored 162 this season, while Glendale Prep Academy has scored 242. Madison Prep scored 38 points last week as it topped Summit.
