After flying high against Gem State Adventist Academy last Tuesday, Notus came back down to earth. The Notus Pirates had to suffer through a 73-45 loss at the hands of the Council Lumberjacks. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-24.
Despite the defeat, Notus saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dehaven Wilson posted eight points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Martinez, who had seven points.
Notus' loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Council, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
