The Northwest Rankin Cougars can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Callaway as Northwest Rankin made off with a 67-47 win. The result was nothing new for Northwest Rankin, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Despite the loss, Callaway still got an impressive performance from Jahanna Wilson, who scored 20 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Satiya Johnson, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Callaway were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Northwest Rankin's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.67 points. As for Callaway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.
Northwest Rankin will head out on the road to face off against Canton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canton is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games. Callaway will be home for the holidays to greet Ridgeland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Eva Young and Wilson.
