4A Region 3 recap September 24, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Michael Walls and Jalen Mitchell connected against Beulah. The longest such play in 4A Region 3 this season, the connection resulted in 83 yards.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Dadeville beat Childersburg 38-8,. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Tigers.
Elmore County's dynamic duo of Walls and Mitchell proved tough for the Bobcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Walls threw for 232 yards and Mitchell had 133 yards receiving. Javon Moore helped Elmore County's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 112 yards.
The Panthers' dynamic duo of Walls and Mitchell proved to be unstoppable against Beulah, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Walls put up the best numbers through the air as Elmore County topped Steve White's team.
Mitchell was the best wideout in the league this week as Norman Dean's team defeated the Bobcats.
Sergio Birmingham made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Panthers beat Beulah. The 6-foot-2 defensive end.
C. J. Tolbert was the most successful running back in 4A Region 3 this week. He ran for 175 yards on 19 carries as Dadeville defeated the Bobcats. Teammate Darius Miller added to the ground attack by rushing for 88 yards.
The Panthers' Walls and Moore have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Walls has thrown for 753 yards this season, while Moore, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 25 catches for 358 yards. Richard White's team's Tolbert leads the league in rushing yards with 617.
The Tigers took down the Tigers 38-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tolbert in the win.
