Softball Recap: Hackberry Has No Trouble Against Johnson Bayou

Hackberry never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Johnson Bayou Rebels with a sharp 19-0 win. The match marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Hackberry got a massive performance out of Kynlin Moore, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Moore has posted since back in March of 2024. Velle Devall was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Hackberry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in three consecutive games.

Hackberry pushed their record up to 4-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Johnson Bayou, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
