Conway Springs and Chaparral are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Conway Springs Cardinals will head out on the road to square off against the Chaparral Roadrunners at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Conway Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
Conway Springs suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They suffered a rough 58-35 defeat at the hands of Independent. While losing is never fun, Conway Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Independent is ranked 18th).
Conway Springs' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Melissa Ebenkamp, who scored 18 points, and Haylee Osner who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Chaparral's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 52-36 to Trinity Academy.
Conway Springs now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Chaparral, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Conway Springs beat Chaparral 55-44 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Will Conway Springs repeat their success, or does Chaparral have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
