The Shorewood Greyhounds will head out on the road to face off against the Brown Deer Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Shorewood waltzed into Tuesday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 67-24 victory over West Allis Central at home. Given Shorewood's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while West Allis Central is ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Serinity Metcalfe went supernova for Shorewood, scoring 44 points. The match was Metcalfe's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raelyn Harris, who scored 15 points.
Even though Brown Deer has not done well against South Milwaukee recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Brown Deer blew past South Milwaukee, posting a 74-38 victory at home.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Shorewood's victory pushed their record up to 3-0, while West Allis Central's loss dropped theirs down to 0-3.
Everything went Shorewood's way against Brown Deer in their previous meeting back in February as Shorewood made off with a 81-57 win. Will Shorewood repeat their success, or does Brown Deer have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
