The Lincoln North Star Navigators waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They blew past Fremont 73-13 at home. Lincoln North Star has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Lincoln North Star found their leader in underclassman Kaytee Irons-Buettner, who scored 17 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ani Leu, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Lincoln North Star pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Fremont, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Lincoln North Star will be playing in front of their home fans against Pius X at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Averaging 59.47 points so far this season, Lincoln North Star's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Pius X better be ready for a challenge. As for Fremont, they will be playing at home against Omaha Central at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Omaha Central is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.9 points per game this season.
