Isaiah Ocampo Drops League-Best Performance on Thursday
Starting off the list is Socorro's Isaiah Ocampo, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Ocampo threw for 174 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 87 yards. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging two interceptions which he returned for a touchdown.
Socorro pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Ocampo's next contest is against Ruidoso on Thursday, where he'll look to repeat that solid performance.

A Season-Best Effort from Omar Loya Leads Dexter over Hot Springs
On Friday, Dexter got the W thanks in part to Omar Loya playing the best football he has all season. Loya rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and also caught a touchdown. His longest rush was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
The win for Dexter keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. Loya and Dexter will take on Hatch Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Tomasits Made His Presence Known in New Mexico Military Institute's 45-13 Victory
Cohen Tomasits was a major factor in New Mexico Military Institute's victory over Ruidoso on Friday. Tomasits turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 75 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass.
Ruidoso's probably not too fond of Tomasits given he always seems to get the better of them. When Tomasits last faced the Warriors back in October of 2023, he rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 64 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Dexter Wins Ninth-Straight Thanks to Garet Gonzalez
Garet Gonzalez was instrumental in extending Dexter's winning streak to nine on Friday. Gonzalez rushed for 156 yards while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making three total tackles.
On the year, Gonzalez has averaged 72.2 rushing yards per game.

Rigo Regalado Turns in Another Game with at Least Five Total Tackles
Dexter picked up their ninth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Rigo Regalado. Regalado wasn't messing around, picking up three sacks, forcing a fumble, and making nine total tackles. The matchup was his third straight with five or more total tackles.
For the year, Regalado has averaged 5.6 total tackles per game and for the season has 5 sacks. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 1.78 total tackles per game.
