Even though the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs scored an imposing 65 points on Friday, the Cleveland Rams still came out on top. Cleveland sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 68-65 victory over Southeast Raleigh. The victory was all the more spectacular given Cleveland's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Southeast Raleigh is ranked 142nd).
Cleveland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from James Harris, who scored 18 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Tsolenyanu, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
The victory makes it two in a row for Cleveland and bumps their season record up to 9-9. As for Southeast Raleigh, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.
Cleveland will be playing in front of their home fans against Fuquay - Varina at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fuquay - Varina is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Southeast Raleigh, they will head out on the road to challenge Corinth Holders at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Corinth Holders has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 27.
