The Rock Academy Warriors had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 47-14 win over O'Farrell Charter. The result was nothing new for Rock Academy, who have now won three matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Rock Academy was led to victory by Donald Moore iii and Zayden Campbell. Moore iii rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns, while Campbell rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Campbell really tore up the turf during one magnificent 95-yard run. Ernesto Martinez did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in four field goals and five extra points.
The team's defense also helped out by holding O'Farrell Charter to a paltry 242 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Rock Academy's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out seven times before it was all said and done. O'Farrell Charter's QB won't forget Jacob Paulson anytime soon given Paulson sacked him seven times.
Despite the defeat, O'Farrell Charter saw an underclassman step up: Dakobi Coleman rushed for 191 yards and a touchdown.
Rock Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for O'Farrell Charter, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Rock Academy will look to defend their home field on Friday against Maranatha Christian. Maranatha Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. O'Farrell Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
