It was a good run, but Meridian unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They were beaten by the Burlington-Edison Tigers 72-40. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Tigers are ranked sixth).

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Burlington-Edison, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Meridian will head out to face off against Mt. Baker at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Burlington-Edison, they will square off against Lynden Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Burlington-Edison knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Lynden Christian likes a good challenge.
